Terms of Service
By installing or using ControlStack you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not install or use the extension. These terms apply to all versions of ControlStack including the free tier and pro tier.
ControlStack is a Chrome browser extension that injects user-configured behavioral preference blocks into outgoing messages on supported AI platforms before transmission. It operates entirely within your local browser. It has no servers, no backend, and no account system. All configuration is stored locally on your device.
ControlStack currently supports ChatGPT and Claude. Support for specific platforms may change at any time without notice depending on changes made by those platforms to their interfaces.
ControlStack is licensed to you, not sold. Your purchase of a pro license grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the extension on your own devices for personal or professional use.
You may not:
- Distribute, resell, sublicense, or share your license key with others
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or modify the extension code
- Use the extension in any way that violates the terms of service of any AI platform it operates on
- Use the extension for any unlawful purpose
The free tier is provided as-is with no time limit. We reserve the right to modify what features are included in the free tier at any time.
Pro tier licenses are sold as one-time purchases through Gumroad. Payment processing, receipts, and license key delivery are handled by Gumroad and subject to their terms of service at gumroad.com/terms.
Your license key is tied to your purchase. We reserve the right to revoke a license key if a purchase is refunded, charged back, or found to have been obtained fraudulently. A revoked key will fail silent re-verification and pro features will be disabled.
Refunds: Because ControlStack is a digital product that is immediately usable upon purchase, we do not offer refunds outside of Gumroad's standard refund policy. If you have a genuine issue with your purchase please contact us at [email protected] before requesting a refund.
ControlStack is provided as-is and as-available without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the extension will work correctly on all devices, browser versions, or configurations. We do not warrant uninterrupted operation, compatibility with future versions of supported AI platforms, or that any specific feature will remain available.
The extension operates by interacting with third-party AI platform interfaces that may change at any time. If a supported platform updates its interface in a way that breaks compatibility, we will make reasonable efforts to restore functionality but cannot guarantee a timeline for doing so.
The extension performs best-effort injection and masking of content blocks. Retries and fallbacks exist to handle varying browser environments but do not constitute a guarantee of behavior.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, ControlStack and its creator shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use the extension, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of profits, or business interruption.
Our total liability to you for any claim arising from these terms or your use of the extension shall not exceed the amount you paid for your license, or $7.99 if no purchase was made.
ControlStack operates on top of third-party AI platforms including ChatGPT (OpenAI) and Claude (Anthropic). Your use of those platforms is governed entirely by their own terms of service and privacy policies. ControlStack is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by OpenAI or Anthropic.
You are responsible for ensuring your use of ControlStack complies with the terms of service of any AI platform you use it with.
We may update, modify, or discontinue ControlStack or any of its features at any time. We will make reasonable efforts to maintain backward compatibility and notify users of significant changes through the Chrome Web Store listing or the extension itself. We are not obligated to maintain any specific feature indefinitely.
We may update these terms from time to time. If we make material changes we will update the Last Updated date at the top of this document. Continued use of the extension after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which the creator resides, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these terms shall be resolved in the courts of that jurisdiction.
